Time called on Race 1

The Race Committee has decided to call time on Race 1 from Liverpool to La Rochelle at midnight UTC tonight due to the forecast for continued light airs and the short turnaround ahead of Race 2 that is scheduled to start on Sunday 23 September.
With Hull & Humber just five miles from the finish line, the winner of Race 1 is set to be decided within the next hour. The crew on the orange boat skippered by Danny Watson are being accompanied by the official photo boat which is capturing images of the jubilant team as they make their way to the line. They are currently making around 7 knots in a moderate westerly sea breeze under spinnaker.
Jamaica is expected to arrive later this evening after motor sailing following their retirement from Race 1.
