Jamaica’s new clothes
11 September 2007
Jamaica is one of ten yachts competing in the 35,000-mile race which will take ten months to complete. One of the 14 port visits along the way will be to Port Antonio, Jamaica, which gave the fleet such a warm welcome during Clipper 05-06.
Yachting enthusiasts will notice her mainsail is missing at the moment. This, too, is being branded and will be in place in time for Jamaica‘s official naming ceremony at 12.30 on Saturday 15 September at which His Excellency the Honourable Burchell Whiteman, O.J., Jamaica High Commissioner, London will be present.
