The Medical First Aid on Board course has been designed to train crew on how to deal with all types of medical conditions on board, from minor toothache to a full-blown medical emergency. The course is MCA approved and meets the mandatory requirements for crew who have been chosen to provide medical first aid on board.
Over the four days of training the Clipper crew will learn all about the principles, priorities and management of first aid. They will cover basic life support and CPR, the structure of the human body and how to treat infections and diseases whilst at sea. By the end of their training they will be able to respond effectively to medical emergencies and will receive a recognised RYA qualification.
