Exactly a year ago today, after enjoying their last rounds of the local caipirinha cocktails and juicy steaks and chips, the Clipper crews headed back out to sea at the start Leg 2 from Brazil to South Africa.
What will you be doing in twelve months time?
You could be joining the Clipper 09-10 crews as they prepare to leave Brazil for the gruelling race across the South Atlantic to South Africa, dipping into the outer limits of the Southern Ocean.
The prevailing weather systems that whip up the ocean provide huge challenges for any sailor who dares to take them on. Confidence will be building for the crews of Clipper 09-10, especially for those who had never sailed before embarking on their Clipper Training, and competition amongst the teams will be hotting up. At the same time, temperatures will start to fall as the yachts head south into the Roaring Forties.
