Clipper 07-08 Race Start Programme

Everyone from friends and family of the competing crew to sailing enthusiasts are invited down to the Albert Dock in Liverpool to attend the race start. There will be plenty of viewing areas avaialble along the waterfront from the Albert Dock up to the Kings Dock Arena.
The timetable on Sunday will run as follows:
AM Skippers and crew prepare for departure from Albert Dock
1130 Clipper fleet commence slipping from pontoons in Albert Dock
1200 Locking out begins in Canning Half Tide Dock
1310 Clipper fleet commence slipping from Canning Half Tide Dock and enter the Mersey
1400 Clipper fleet parade past the spectators from the VAT building to the Liver Building
1430 Clipper fleet begin preparations for the race start
1450 The ten minute count down begin will begin
1500 RACE START: The gun will fire marking the start of the Clipper 07-08 Round the World Yacht Race
1500 The Clipper fleet will race around designated markers in the Mersey before heading out to sea at the beginning of their ten month race around the world.
At the time of the race start there will also be an air display by the BT Yakolevs
